Jeff Shafer
Senior Vice President and Executive Director for Â鶹ÊÓƵ Kansas City
Jeff Shafer serves as the executive director of Â鶹ÊÓƵ Kansas City. In this role, Jeff maintains strategic relationships with Kansas City public schools, Â鶹ÊÓƵ Kansas City’s board, corporate and philanthropic partners and the wider Kansas City community.
Raised in Kansas City, Jeff grew up attending Kansas City Public Schools and is a graduate of Lincoln College Preparatory Academy. He then spent 10 years in Chicago, where he received a BA in marketing communications from Columbia College Chicago and first got involved with Â鶹ÊÓƵ by serving as an AmeriCorps member from 2010-2012 on the city’s South Side. Jeff then transitioned to the staff team, working as an Impact Manager where he helped develop and coach 26 AmeriCorps members as they provided targeted support to 200 students across 3 Chicago Public schools. Jeff went on to utilize his talent for storytelling as the Grant Writer for Â鶹ÊÓƵ Chicago before joining the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Kansas City start-up team in 2015.
For the last 5 years, Jeff has served as Development Director. In that role, he has been responsible for the cultivation and stewardship of donor relationships and has exceeded fundraising goals each year. In addition to his impact on Â鶹ÊÓƵ, Jeff is involved in the community, serving as a Committee Member for and Board Member for (Brothers Liberating Our Community).
