25% scholarships
The award for the School of Planning and Public Policy’s graduate programs will be equal to 25% of tuition for up to two 鶹Ƶ applicants per year. All students must meet the school’s admission criteria.
Scholarships are awarded to 鶹Ƶ AmeriCorps members and alums who complete at least one term of service and 鶹Ƶ staff employed for at least two years.
Applicants will be considered for additional merit-based awards depending on the strength of their application.

- Enrollment deferral: a one-year deferral for students admitted to a graduate program who decide to serve additional time with 鶹Ƶ before starting their study with the School of Planning and Public Policy.

On the online application, there will be a drop-down list of organizations. Select “鶹Ƶ/AmeriCorps” from that list to identify your affiliation and upload any required service verification documents.
Please also self-identify your 鶹Ƶ affiliation on your résumé.
To access the application fee waiver and apply for the scholarship
To get the application fee waived, please email Dr. Lynn Astorga at lastorga@rutgers.edu.
To be considered for the scholarship, a service verification letter must be requested by emailing alumni@cityyear.org with “Rutgers School of Planning and Public Policy” AND the specific program you are applying to in the subject line. Within the email, include your service site and your AmeriCorps graduation month and year. This letter will be sent back to you to upload to your online application.
