American University’s Kogod School of Business offers Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ AmeriCorps members, alums and staff
$10,000 scholarships
Three qualifying applicants in good standing will receive a minimum value of $10,000 to be dispersed while enrolled in any residential graduate degree program. The $10,000 scholarship will be divided equally across the semesters of the program.
Scholarships are awarded to Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ AmeriCorps members and alums who complete at least one term of service and Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ staff employed for at least two years.

- Application fee waiver
- Enrollment deferral: Accepted applicants may defer enrollment up to one year if they choose to serve additional time with Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. However, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ applicants cannot defer a merit scholarship. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ applicants will be reconsidered for the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Scholarship for the following year.

To get the application fee waived and be considered for the scholarship, a service verification letter must be requested by emailing alumni@cityyear.org with “American University Kogod School of Business” in the subject line. Within the email, include the site where you served and your AmeriCorps graduation month and year. This letter will be sent electronically by Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to the admissions office and added to your applicant file.
