Temple Teacher Residency offers Â鶹ÊÓƵ alums
Teaching residency
- Obtain graduate-level education credentials to teach science, mathematics, Spanish and/or special education in grades four-12
- Earn a full-time salary
- Gain hands-on teaching experience in middle or secondary school classrooms immediately at the outset of the program for an entire academic year
- Work one-on-one with a mentor teacher and receive support and professional guidance from experienced mentor teachers, coaches and professors
- Join a cohort of peers who enter the program together and will support and motivate each other during residency and beyond
Why Â鶹ÊÓƵ loves Temple Teacher Residency
is an accelerated teacher preparation program that prepares professionals and recent graduates to teach science, math, Spanish and special education in systemically under-resourced schools in the city of Philadelphia, grades four-12. For a full academic year, residents will learn while co-teaching with experienced mentor teachers in Philadelphia middle grades and high school classrooms. At the same time, you will take coursework at Temple University’s College of Education and Human Development to earn both a from the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The Â鶹ÊÓƵ experience is a strong indicator of future success at Temple Teacher Residency, and serving with Â鶹ÊÓƵ strengthens an applicant’s chances for being selected as a Teacher Resident.
