Â鶹ÊÓƵ is proud to partner with New York University Teacher Residency, a one-year combined residency and Master of Arts in teaching program, so our alums can continue to lead on transformational change on pressing social problems.

New York University Teacher Residency offers Â鶹ÊÓƵ alums

Teaching residency

  • Earn eligibility for New York State initial teacher certification in English, mathematics, science, social studies or special education
  • Access scholarships and living stipends from New York University Steinhardt and partner schools and residential housing where available
  • Join a cohort learning model within partner schools
  • Receive deep mentoring and support from New York University faculty and experienced teachers

The teacher residency partners with school districts and charter organizations that share its goal to transform teacher preparation. must be with one of its partner schools in these regions: New York City; Upstate and Central New York (Albany, Rochester & Syracuse); Washington, D.C.; or Rhode Island. The Â鶹ÊÓƵ experience is a strong indicator of future success at New York University’s Teacher Residency, and serving with Â鶹ÊÓƵ strengthens an applicant’s chances of being selected as a teacher resident.
